Saddlery

The Volke in-house saddlery refines objects from the vehicle interior:  seats receive their form, their cushioning, and their upholstery in either high quality fabric or leather.  Instrument panels are complimented with leather trim, and steering wheels receive a new skin.  Design sketches again serve as the starting point here.  In accordance with these sketches, the saddler makes foam bodies, and then confers with the designer regarding the pattern and seam pattern.  A pattern is made from the basic material which is then used to cut the finishing material.  The cover is sewn with a machine, and then, depending on the customer's wishes, refined with seams, appliqués, or embossings.  To segment surfaces and to achieve a formal statement, welted seams, quilted or flat piping, or patterns can be used.  The result is perfect optic and haptic interior design in manufacturing quality.
