Pedestrian Protection
To reduce the danger of injury to pedestrians in collisions with vehicles, Volke carries out extensive testing in our own testing facilities. These include impact tests in accordance with 2004/90/EU-Guideline, EEVC WG17, EuroNCAP and ACEA. The frontal surface of the vehicle is shot at with various impactors, for example, with a leg impactor which is fired at a speed of
40 km/h against the bumper, or a hip impactor which is fired at a speed of 40 km/h against the leading edge of the hood, as well as various head impactors which hit the hood at 35 to 40 km/h. Volke analyzes and interprets the measurement results into usable improvement options. In the area of pedestrian protection, Volke offers the complete development package, including design, calculation, and testing.
