Safety Testing / Interior, part 1

Among the safety tests conducted on the interior is the analyses of head impacts in vehicle interiors, taking into account FMVSS 201U and the proposed bill EEVC WG13.  A modified dummy head (Free Motion Headform) is shot at a speed of 24.1 km/h (19.3 km/h in the area of the head airbag) against the vehicle interior paneling.  From the acceleration data thus recorded, the degree of head injury can be determined.  A further aid in impact testing is the high-speed video recording which is made of every test.  Because of our many years of project experience  -- among others for the Volkswagen models New Beetle, Phaeton, Touareg, Jetta, and Golf  -- Volke can do all of the developmental work involved, including testing in our own testing facilities, creating the designs, and carrying out the calculations.
